this video, we will illustrate BigPicture's flexibility in updating Jira fields based on changes in the Gantt chart. With BigPicture's Gantt chart, the timeline reflects the pertinent information stored in Jira and the two products remain in sync. To begin, click the wrench icon in the upper right-hand corner and select General. There are two options available: General Mapping and Custom Mapping.\n\nGeneral mapping is the default and is used by all projects when there is no custom mapping. On this page, BigPicture fields are mapped to Jira fields so they are updated when project dates are changed on the Gantt chart, and vice versa. There is also an option to set the Jira field to \"Not Synchronized.\" With this option, the Gantt chart would be independent of any data in Jira.\n\nThere is another option available, time Time Spent + Remaining Estimate. With this selection, fields dynamically change based on updated estimates in Jira time tracking. Next, let's take a look at a Custom mapping example. Click the Add Project button and select a project.\n\nWith Custom Mapping, a project can be configured to use unique mapping options on the Gantt chart. And, below the mapping fields, toggle fields display, including the ability to \"calculate tasks automatically based on working days.\" This option takes into account any absences or holidays when calculating estimates. The last toggle switch controls whether or not information in Jira is overwritten based on the Gantt chart or vice versa.\n\nNext, let's look at a few field mapping examples. In our first example, Dates Mapped Directly to Date Fields, the End Date is mapped to the Jira Due Date. In the second example, End Date Mapped to Original Estimate, the End Date is mapped to the Original Estimate. And, in the third example, the End Date is mapped to Time Spent + Remaining Estimate.\n\nSo, there are three distinct mappings that we'll review on the Gantt chart. On the Gantt, we've added Jira fields, including columns for Start Date, Due Date, End Date, Original Estimate, and Remaining Estimate. As the project is updated on the Gantt chart, these fields will illustrate which dates are changed in Jira. First, let's change a task in the \"Dates Mapped Directly to Date Fields\" project.\n\nHere, the End Date is mapped to the Jira End Date. So, when we change the End Date on the timeline, the Jira End Date updates. Next, let's update one of the tasks whose End Date is mapped to Time Spent Plus Remaining Estimate. In this example, the End Date and the Remaining Estimate fields update.\n\nIn our last example, we'll update a task whose End Date is Mapped to an Original Estimate. When this change is made, the Original Estimate field updates.
