Christopher Poenaru, a security architect here at Abnormal, and I've been at the company for four years now. I serve as a technical lead across our platform security and data security engineering teams. AI is fundamentally transforming how we approach software engineering problems. The focus has really shift away from simply writing code more over to architectural thinking, system design, and prompt engineering that will enable effective AI execution.\n\nWe're operating in a fascinating arms race today where we are using AI to protect our customers while adversaries are simultaneously weaponizing AI for increasingly sophisticated attacks. And we're shipping new products and features at unprecedented rates and speed. We're looking for engineers to come in with fresh ideas. We're not looking for people to come in and just get the code out the door.\n\nWe're looking for people to really come in with a strong sense of ownership. If you're an engineer and you're looking for a new opportunity, I think you need to be asking yourself, how are they using AI? Because the last thing you're gonna want is to be joining an organization that's lacking on the curve. One of the biggest draws for me to Abnormal was the remote first kind of approach that it was offering.\n\nI live in a town in BC quite a ways away from major cities and major towns. Being able to work and live where I want was very important.
