developing simple issue language SIL scripts, you often need to verify exactly what your code is doing.\n\nToday, we'll examine a script that sets different due dates based on issue types, and we'll do that using the SIL Manager Debugger, a powerful tool that lets you pause execution and inspect variables at specific points.\n\nFirst, we need to put a breakpoint at a specific location in the script.\n\nTo do this, locate line three in your script.\n\nThe first line inside the for loop where we set the due date to the current date. Click in the left margin next to this line.\n\nYou'll see a red dot appear.\n\nThis is your breakpoint.\n\nNext, launch the Debugger.\n\nLocate and click the Debugger icon in the toolbar. It appears as a bug icon right next to the Run button.\n\nThe breakpoint we created on line three will pause the script before updating each issue.\n\nClick the Debug button to begin execution.\n\nNotice the green highlighting.\n\nThis shows that the script has stopped at line three just before processing the first issue.\n\nLook at the variables values tab. It displays information about the current Jira issue being processed.\n\nClick the Resume button to continue execution.\n\nThe script updates the issue, which is a subtask.\n\nObserve how the due date is now set to two weeks from today.\n\nClick Resume again to process the next issue.\n\nNotice this issue is a bug and the due date is now set to one week from today.\n\nCheck the Modified objects tab. It lists all issues that have been modified by the script so far.\n\nContinue debugging by clicking Resume several more times. To examine changes made to a specific issue, click the expand icon next to that issue.\n\nLet's try a more focused approach.\n\nClick Terminate to end the current session.\n\nClear the breakpoint on line three by clicking on the red dot.\n\nStart a new debugging session with a breakpoint on line five.\n\nInside the task condition, click in the left margin to create the new breakpoint.\n\nClick the Debugger icon to start debugging.\n\nNotice how the debugger skips the breakpoint entirely for subtasks, bugs, or any other issue types.\n\nThe script only pauses when it encounters a task issue. Click Resume to process the task issue and continue execution.\n\nSimilarly, placing a breakpoint on line seven.
